The South beach Diet is made up of 3 phases. Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet is made up of the first two weeks. This is the most difficult phase that requires the most will power. In this phase, many of the’ normal’ foods are restricted.
In the first phase of the South Beach Diet, the focus will be mainly on high fiber foods such as, fish, meat, eggs, nuts, non-fat yogurt and low fat cheese. Complex carbs such as bread, rice, pasta and potatoes are restricted in this stage.
Stage one aims to accustom your body to different levels of sugar and starches. The whole concept behind The South Beach Diet is all about understanding how the food influences your blood sugar in your body. You should focus on foods with naturally low such as vegetables.
Phase 2 is more relaxed than phase one; as you will be able to eat the foods that were previously restricted in phase one. You can eat foods such as breads, potatoes, and fruits again in this stage - but, your weight loss will dramatically slow down from in phase one.
In the third phase, you will be able to find out for yourself the appropriate foods to be eaten. This stage allows flexibility and may include any of the foods of your choice. However, you should start again at phase one and repeat the whole process if you notice that your weight starts to go up again during phase three.
